Environment and Sustainability Policy

Nordia Group operates in land, civil engineering and construction.
We are aware that our industry has an impact on both the environment and the climate and that it
requires a structured approach to each project, from early planning to implementation.

Our environmental and sustainability work

Compliance and liability

  • We comply with applicable environmental legislation and other relevant requirements that apply to our missions and activities
  • We work with clear responsibilities, procedures and follow-up linked to environmental issues in the projects
  • We manage waste, chemicals and spills according to applicable rules and established practices

Reduced CO₂ emissions

We work to reduce CO₂ emissions linked to materials and goods by combining early decisions with practical measures in production.

Nordia-92
In early stages, planning and design

When project conditions allow, the work may include

  • analyze climate impacts early in the project to support the choice of materials and solutions
  • take a life-cycle perspective and use verified environmental data, such as EPDs, where relevant and available
  • strive to prioritize materials and products with a lower carbon footprint, long lifespan and high recyclability, such as climate-improved concrete, recycled steel and certified wood when appropriate
  • engage with suppliers on product choice, environmental performance and opportunities for more efficient supply chains
In production and implementation

On the construction site, the work may include

  • plan logistics and coordinate deliveries to reduce unnecessary transport and empty runs
  • reduce waste through careful quantity planning and working practices that support the right materials in the right place at the right time
  • use prefabricated solutions when appropriate for the project scope and requirements
  • work on sorting, recycling and reusing materials where possible and compatible with the project conditions
  • set relevant environmental requirements for suppliers and subcontractors and follow up when it is part of the assignment
Certification and customer requirements

When projects are subject to customer or certification requirements

– for example Miljöbyggnad, we work in a structured way with material selection, documentation and follow-up in line with the requirements that apply to the project. This may include climate calculations, material analyses and documentation of products with verified environmental performance.
The policy is an overall support for how we work and is reviewed when necessary to remain relevant.
